Now if only those bananas weren't so slippery and slimy she'd be in business.

Leona's Tricks
Leona learned a new trick last Sunday, clapping. It's so cute to see her concentrate really hard and then clap her little chubby hands together. She does it mostly when she's bored it seems.
Her other trick is what we fondly call "broken neck baby". She's been doing it for a month or so now. She just all of a sudden lolls her head to one side and then looks around for someone who's watching her and smiles really big. She is most likely to do this while she's sitting in her booster seat eating.

Leona's First Camping Trip
Eliza wanted to go camping for her birthday so we invited a few of her friends' families to come with us and went to Stephen F. Austin State Park. It was Clara's and Leona's first time camping and I have to say that they both did pretty well for sleeping in a weird place. The big girls were very jealous that Leona got her bed set up in the tent first.
Leona LOVED hanging out in her bed in the open air.
Quick, play "Where's Leona?" After we packed up our stuff on Saturday morning we went on walk with everybody. This was taken right before it started torrentially raining- halfway out on the trail loop we were walking. Everybody was dripping wet when we made it back to the campsite- Leona was actually the driest, thanks to her carrier. She snoozed through a good portion of the wet walk. It was really fun and more memorable because of the rain.
8 Months Old
This was the first time that Leona wore this head decoration. It was adorable. So adorable in fact that while Leona was content to wear it and leave it alone Clara could. not. stop. adjusting it and it eventually had to be removed. Leona was good natured about all of the attention. Just like she is about everything, including teething for months on end with nary a tooth to show for it.
Mum Mums & Hand Holding
I think my favorite part of these photos is that the Bumbo looks like it is censoring the photo. I assure you there was no need for censoring as Leona was wearing a diaper.
My second favorite part is how it appears that Leona is uncertain whether she wants to be eating the rice cakes but cant seem to stop shoving it into her face.
I love it when she holds her own hands. It's so cute.

7 Months and Other Bonus Photos
Leona's new trick this month is sitting by herself. Unfortunately when she is done with her sitting time she launches herself forcefully either forward or backward, kamikaze style. That's why the Bumbo is still there.
"What was that Mom? You said you want to be able to read what the paper says?"
"I had no idea I was not supposed to ruin it."
"Guess it's time to destroy the evidence."
Labor Day Weekend
We went to Flower Mound for Labor Day Weekend. While we were there we went to the FM Rec Center to go swimming. Pony got to go swimming for the first time. She really liked it, in spite of being forced to swim a-la-European and wear only a swim diaper.
Jabba the Baby
This is her flaunting the fact that she's more tan than her dad even though literally her skin had never seen the light of day.
Then she got tired, but like the wonder baby that she is...
she just fell asleep on the lounge chair and snoozed away. She had MANY admirers stop by to ooh and aah over how adorable she was.
We took some photos after church. This might be my favorite of them all.
Delivering a well placed left hook.
This is the best of the series because it was before Leona discovered that Grandma wears toys around her neck.
And then you don't see her face anymore after that. But chaos ensues...
Don't worry future Leona, Grandma caught you. Don't tell her I put this photo on your blog. She was mortified that 1) it happened and 2) that it was immortalized in a photo.
