PAG Camp

As opposed to previous years, this year's PAG (Primary Activities for Girls) Camp was done at the Stake level instead of the Ward level and it was for boys and girls. One benefit of that was that the kids got to meet kids from all over the stake instead of just their home ward. Another benefit was that they went all out with each day having a different scriptural theme. The days were Book of Mormon, Old Testament, New Testament, and Doctrine and Covenants. Both girls said that Doctrine and Covenants was their favorite day. It was the most action packed with activities of the week. 

Leona's favorite activity was also my favorite activity. They called it a "Living Wax Museum" and it consisted of people dressed like various early saints. When the button was pushed (one of those touch lights) and the kids said the person's number the historical figure would come to life and share a faith promoting experience from that person's life. The spirit was really strong as they shared the sacrifices these early saints had made. All the kids were totally enthralled.

Beginning of May

This is a really ugly photo of a really lovely girl. I believe Eliza took it.

Funny Leona quote after hearing that we were having pizza for dinner, "So much trash food in two weeks!" (Said in a voice of pleasant wonder.

End of May

Leona once again distinguished herself as an accordionist at the spring recital. Leona played her song very well, and she didn't even seem nervous.

Gma and Gpa Cole decided to take any grandkids who wanted to come to Arbuckle Wilderness up in Oklahoma. It was a full day with the driving there and back. The kids enjoyed seeing the animals, but I think more so they enjoyed the cousin hangout time.

 

End of the School Year

Leona was sad to say goodbye to Mrs. Ramsey. She has been such a great teacher, and Leona really loved being in her class. 

 

End of April

We went up to Oklahoma for Claire's baptism. The kids got to play a little bit the day before, but it was a pretty quick trip.

From upstairs the girls screamed, "There's water running all over the bathroom floor!" Panic on the part of the parents ensued. This is what we found when we investigated further.

Gma and Gpa Roueche stopped by for the weekend before heading back to Colorado from visiting Great Gpa Roueche. Of course there were donuts.

Mid-April

After her class read a news article about edible insects Leona's fun teacher, Mrs. Ramsey, ordered flavored meal worms for the class to try. Leona said they tasted pretty good. The faces she's making in the photos are just to ham it up for the camera.

Leona reluctantly agreed to go to the spring concert and sing with the rest of the third graders. Her motivation was purely non-musical. She wanted to buy these little sticker girl packs that are sold from vending machines in the cafeteria. However you aren't allowed to purchase them during lunch, and we never get to school early enough to buy them before school. So she was willing to sing for an opportunity to gain access to the stickers.

Also an activity at CRE.

At the ward Father and Daughter activity. It was sparsely attended so they got extra toppings on their ice cream sundaes. Also, poor Tim was the only one not invited as I was there as the face painter, obviously.

 

Easter Week

We went to the zoo on Good Friday, since the kids had the day off. Since our membership was expiring we did all the things that we hadn't yet done, like feeding the giraffes, riding the carousel, and going to the bird show.

At the Primary Easter party. Leona is wearing every single one of the butterfly clips that she just got in her Easter eggs from our home hunt.
