Leona, Timothy, and I went to Texas to welcome home Uncle Elder Sammy from his mission in Philadelphia, PA. Originally it was only going to be Timothy and me, but then I realized that it was the last year that Leona could miss school with no real consequences and we bought her a ticket too. She wanted to hold Timothy the whole flight, or at least for the first five minutes or so. It was Timothy's first flight and both of the kids did so well. I got tons of compliments on what sweet, well behaved children they were.
While we were there Gma. Cole wanted a photo shoot with all of us grown up kids. While she maybe didn't get exactly what she wanted she did get what she should have expected. These are the less ridiculous photos from that.
While we were in Texas we spent as much time outside as possible. It was warm enough to wear shorts and short sleeves and it was sunny. At one point Ollie was inside watching tv and Leona said to me, "Why is Ollie inside? The sun is shining." Spoken like a true Seattle-ite. Uncle Sammy was back in full force, playing with all the little kids. He made the swing go so high that Ollie was scared, but Leona kept going back for more. Speaking of never getting enough, Leona reminded Ollie about a dozen times a day that she is older than him because she is 5 and he is still 4. *eyeroll* We couldn't get her to stop saying that. We also visited Grandma Hatch while we were in town. Leona was actually a good sport about the visit, she just didn't want to be in a photo.
The Caldwells have the best toys, including a real life motorized motorcycle. At first Ollie wouldn't let Leona drive it herself, but after a while he ran off to play with something else and Leona snatched it for a joy ride.
The only downside to the trip was the crazy late flight coming home. Leona slept part of the way and was super tired when I woke her up to tell her that we had landed. It was a really fun trip and I'm glad that Leona got to come with me.
