The Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon was majestic and beautiful! The first two days we hiked around and enjoyed being with G & G Roueche, Aunt Cambrie, Uncle Bryce, and Lev. We even saw some caribou (at least we think it was caribou) which was exciting. We also randomly ran into the Mott family from our ward, who we knew was also at the Grand Canyon, but who we hadn't made any actual plans to meet up with.

The favorite parts of the Grand Canyon were as follows:
Eliza: I liked all of it. I liked seeing family, the second hike, and the movie.
Clara: Walking around and looking at the Grand Canyon and doing the hikes.
Leona: The beautiful view.
Tim: The beautiful part of the Grand Canyon, walking around, and hiking.

At the end of the second day Lev got a stomach bug/food poisoning and spent the final day throwing up, which meant that Aunt Cambrie and Uncle Bryce spent the last day cleaning up vomit and trying to help him feel better. On that last day we went to the Grand Canyon 3D Imax movie with Gma Roueche which was cool.

By the time we were driving home from the movie it was snowing quite hard. The next morning we woke up to a fresh coating of 2-3 inches of snow, which we had to shovel out of to load the cars. It made for a beautiful drive, with all the fresh, fluffy snow in the pine trees. On the way home we had planned to stop at Carlsbad Caverns, but found out too late that we had to have tickets, so it was just a long drive home. The snack bracket champion of this trip was coconut almonds. It was a wonderful trip, but very busy for a spring break trip.
