The
big surprise this year was that mom and dad got matching Christmas PJs too! On
Christmas Eve after reading the nativity story, eating a shepherd's meal, and
opening PJs the kids had a sleepover in Eliza and Leona's room. Timothy was
SOOOO excited to be included. I'm not sure how the girls ever convinced him to
go to sleep, but when we checked on them before going to bed ourselves he was
tucked away, snoozing in his corner. I think that sleepover might've been the
best part of Christmas for him.
On
Christmas day we all had fun opening stockings and presents. We had cinnamon
rolls for breakfast and crepes for dinner, in between people were on their own.
Great Grandpa Roueche and Aunt Tina came over in the afternoon to spend time
with us and to eat crepes with us. The girls all played Christmas songs on
their various instruments for him and he and Aunt Tina brought gifts for each
kid. Leona's gift was a giant coloring book and some neon crayons. Leona's main
Christmas gift was magnetic building tiles, which she was very excited about. She saw some kids playing with them during sacrament meeting a while back and has been talking about them quite a bit ever since. The gift that she was probably most excited about though came from her siblings and were the two stuffed animals. She was very insistent that she wanted a cheetah and a dog beanie boos for Christmas. She now has around a dozen of those, but she loves them. It was a great
Christmas.
