We did only a couple April Fool's day pranks this year. One of them was painting mustaches on the kids while they slept, so that hopefully they would wake up and discover a mustache in the mirror. It worked reasonably well on Tim and Eliza. Unfortunately Clara immediately wiped hers off in her sleep, and Leona woke up while we were doing it, gave us a death look and rolled over. Two out of four ain't bad I guess.
Dad also decided to prank Tim by having him plant cheerios in the garden. Later that evening they went back to check on them and discovered that the cheerios had grown into DONUTS! Tim was very excited and asked to plant cheerios again the next day. A little of his childhood died when it was explained that his dad had been tricking him. Everybody else thought it was hilarious and enjoyed the donuts.
The younger girls went to a Primary Daddy Daughter Dance. They refused to dance, but did agree to play bingo and eat treats.
We got a playhouse for the backyard! The kids were thrilled and enjoyed themselves playing in it until it got hot in the summer. A couple of them even helped attach some pieces.
