End of March

Leona at her gymnastics class. She's actually much more engaged than her facial expression would lead you to believe.

This was our first real tornado season. The night this was taken we ate dinner in the bathroom because the tornado sirens went off six or seven times in a matter of 30-35 minutes. Actually the first time that I became aware that there was even a tornado warning was when the sirens started going off.

It was kind of scary because the youngest three kids were over at the Stevens' house. It was time for them to come home and Sis. Stevens opened the door to send them home. As she opened the door the sirens went off and she looked up to see a funnel cloud in the sky. She then brought the kids back inside. Back at our house when the sirens went off I sent dad to go get the kids (not knowing there was an active funnel cloud just outside the neighborhood). He ran and brought them home, thankfully without incident, and we hunkered down in the bathroom for dinner. In order to minimize fear and toilet touching while eating we watched Camp Crustaceous and Mark Rober videos until the sirens stopped going off.

Dad built a playhouse, with Uncle Tutu's help, in the backyard. Never were there happier children.

Leona solved a rubik's cube all on her own.

Leona reading Tim's T-shirt:
L: Does that say "fearless kiddo"?
T: No. It says, "Love me!"
(Side note- The shirt does in fact say, "Fearless kiddo." Leona's reading has gotten really good this year.

This was Leona's explanation both times on her science test when asked to explain her reasoning. I remember thinking that exact same thing when I was taking tests as a kid, but I never had the guts to actually write it. 😆

This lovely art was on the back of a math fact quiz. Very telling as to her state of mind.
