Thanksgiving was a fun family affair as always. The Kokoyes came as well, and were introduced to some traditional American dishes. They liked the sweet potatoes, but I don't think they liked the green bean casserole. The cranberry salad took a lot of convincing to get them to try it, but in the end they liked it. It's always fun to see your traditions through new eyes. The good news was that we had enough French speakers scattered throughout the group that even Boris's sister, who was visiting from Benin, was able to chat with someone. The little kids, as always, ate the minimal amount of food and then scampered off to play and bide their time until desert. Meanwhile the adults enjoyed all the food and conversation. Being able to have Thanksgiving with my family is something I'm always grateful for.
