We put this advent calendar up as always, the day after Thanksgiving. We leave the little star in the 24 pocket until the beginning of December when we begin counting down. Leona made it to November 26th before coming up with a solution to the surfeit of waiting on her own. She came and proudly told me, "Mom, I made it Christmas!" I was confused until she brought me out to see that she had "made it Christmas" by moving the little star to the 1 pocket. BAM! No more waiting! Who knew that our advent calendar was so powerful?
As it's looking increasingly likely that Ruby Red Face Paints won't be around forever I wanted to record instances of carnie-dom in the girls' lives. Grandpa Cole sent some Christmas themed glitter tattoos over and everybody quickly chose some and got glittered up.
