Rodeo Houston Plus a Bonus Pic

Bonus photo: Leona got her braces off at the beginning of Spring Break.

Since we had such a big trip planned for the summer vacation we decided to keep Spring Break low key. We went to Houston for only about 48 hours. We were there long enough to go to dinner with the Dykes, but forgot to take of photo of the kids together all grown up, and to go to the Houston Livestock and Rodeo.

We enjoyed a full day of walking around and taking in the full rodeo spectacle. Sadly there were no births while we were in the livestock tent, but the kids were horrified by the recordings of births that had happened during the previous night. The day on the farm activity was a hit as always. We tried bribing Tim with Lego sets, but he wouldn't agree to mutton bust. Still it was fun to watch other kids. The pig races and the dog trick shows were also big hits. Unfortunately right when we were trying to ride rides a huge thunderstorm rolled in. Luckily we got inside right before it totally unleashed its flood. The people who got inside just a few minutes after us looked like they'd jumped into a pool fully clothed. Everybody did get to ride at least one ride though, so that was good.

When we looked at the line up of the concert performers there was really only one option of a show that the kids would enjoy and that was, The Jonas Brothers. While we aren't superfans, like the woman next to us who was SOBBING and videoing herself singing along to all of their songs, we really enjoyed the concert. They put on a good show and have quite a few really catchy songs. That concert broke all previous records for Houston Rodeo concert attendance. We had a really fun day at the rodeo and being back in good old H-Town!
