We went to go see Great Gma and Great Gpa Roueche and decided to take a side trip to the Ft. Worth Stockyards as we'd heard good things about them. Even though I grew up here it was my first trip to the stockyard. Using the word "cattle drive" to describe what they were doing is hyperbole, but it was still fun to watch the cowboys scoot the longhorns out of their pens and down the street.
While we were there we also did a labyrinth and pony rides. The labyrinth was fun. It seemed like it should've been a lot easier than it was, but was still about the right difficulty for us as a group. The whole time I was terrified of Timothy darting down a path and turning too many corners for me to get to him again, but we managed to stay together.
The pony rides were also really fun. They had real horse back riding, but you had to be at least 11 years old so that was out for most of our group. Luckily Eliza is a light weight so she could still do the pony ride. Eliza and Clara both had a good time, even if it was pretty low-key. Timothy was in love with the pony ride and didn't want it to ever end. He was even amenable to several "Yee-haws!" that Collin made him do. Leona took a hard pass at the pony rides, although she never really told us why. Overall it was a fun day. We'll likely go back when we can hit up a rodeo.
