Last Christmas Gma and Gpa Roueche gave us some money that we had earmarked for going to the Space Needle. We had to wait for a sunny day, since it hardly seemed worth it to go on a cloudy day and not be able to see very far. The stars (and clouds) aligned on Timothy's birthday and we took our long awaited trip downtown to the Space Needle. Since we had to kill time until our allotted time window at the Space Needle we decided to also ride the monorail and eat some french fries at the armory.
The kids did well, all things considered, waiting in line at the Space Needle. Up in the newly refurbished observation deck you could look straight down through the glass floor to see the ground 605 feet below. It was fun to see the view from different locations as it rotated to give us a view of the Puget Sound area. We couldn't quite see all the way to our house from the top of the Space Needle, since there are a couple hills in the way, but we could almost see it. It was a fun thing to do and was definitely on our Seattle bucketlist.
Leona was desperate to buy this bubble machine, so giving it to Timothy for his birthday was a bit of a rubber rat gift, but I'm sure that Timothy will love it as much as Leona does.
